McGraw Elementary, an International Baccalaureate (IB) World School, opened in 1992, and is named in honor of Beryl "Brownie" McGraw, long-time PSD educator. McGraw is proud to be a part of Poudre School District and a network of over 4,000 authorized IB World Schools in over 140 countries around the world.

Since 1998, McGraw has offered the IB Primary Years Program in grades K-5.  IB promotes the development of international-mindedness and the education of the whole child---academic, emotional, social, physical, personal, and cultural. As a result, our students are equipped to be life-long learners and to make a positive difference in their local and global communities.

McGraw's learning environment is inquiry-based, engaging students in the construction of understanding through their questions, research and reflections.  Building on state standards, teachers create units that are structured around a concept-based, transdisciplinary approach to learning.  Every student at McGraw receives weekly instruction to develop their competency in a second language (Spanish). McGraw also houses the district Deaf and Hard of Hearing program.  Teachers at McGraw are highly trained in differentiation of instruction, inquiry-based teaching approaches, curriculum design, use of ongoing assessments to plan individualized student learning opportunities, Positive Behavior Support and Response to Intervention.
