working with children and watching them grow as learners. I have wanted to be a teacher since the time I was a young girl and I am living my dream and loving every minute of it!
I love the sense of family and community that is apparent from the minute you walk through McGraw's doors. I also like the collaboration and respect that exists between all of my co-workers. Our parents, staff, and students truly care about one another.
I am an avid sports enthusiast. I love playing most sports and play both competitive soccer and volleyball. I work out pretty regularly and I enjoy being outdoors and spending time in the Colorado sunshine. I am a HUGE Detroit Red Wings fan and enjoy watching football on the weekends or taking in a new movie.
The Man Who Loved Clowns. This is always the first book I read aloud to students at the beginning of the year and it is my favorite book to read. I also love the book Wonder and my favorite author is James Patterson.
that when I laugh really hard I laugh (so I've been told) like a dying seal! I have never been stung by a bee or broken a bone in my body. I do not know how to sew or iron. Eek!
If you think you are beaten, you are.
If you think you dare not, you don’t.
If you would like to win but think you can’t,
It’s almost certain that you won’t.
Life’s battles don’t always go to the stronger woman or man,
but sooner or later, those who win are those who think they can.
I obtained my teaching degree from the University of Northern Colorado in 2004 with a concentration in mathematics. I am dedicated to student learning and increasing student achievement. My promise is to have open, ongoing communication and cooperation between home and school. I welcome the opportunity to team with you to make this final elementary year as pleasant and productive as possible. My classroom features an exciting curriculum designed to meet the needs of each individual learner. The curriculum is aligned with the Colorado State Standards and designed to be inquiry based, as well as, research based implementation of best practices. Students also receive weekly instruction in the areas of art, music, physical education, and technology.
I am honored to be a part of the McGraw community. It is my belief that parents and our community are our partners in the educational process. Please feel free to always share your thoughts, ideas, and suggestions.
Living the dream!
