McGraw had four Division 1 (3rd - 5th Grade) teams compete at the State Odyssey of the Mind tournament on April 7. All of our teams gave terrific performances and had a very successful day. In addition, all four of these teams have advanced to the Odyssey of the Mind World Finals in Ames, Iowa!

It is very impressive that all four teams qualified to compete in the World Finals that will be held May 23 - 27 at Iowa State University. In addition to having the most OM teams of any school in the state of Colorado this year (8), McGraw also had the most teams from one school advance to the World Finals.
McGraw's "Stellar Hangout" team also received an OMER award for demonstrating exceptional teamwork to problem solve issues together while preparing for the State tournament. The members of the team did a terrific job of applying the skills McGraw students learn during Peacekeeper Circles.
Finally, the Division 2 "Animal House" team from Webber Middle School won first place at the state tournament and is advancing to the World Finals for the first time ever. Six of the seven members of that team are former McGraw students: Breanna Corbin, Brady Bhalla, Elizabeth Ingham, Daniel Schkade, Henry Koenig and Jordan Ackerfield. The coaches of the team are former McGraw parents Shane and Jennifer Corbin.
Over the next several weeks McGraw OM teams will fine-tune their performances and enhance their spontaneous skills as they prepare for the World Tournament. They will also be busy making travel plans for a big "McGraw road trip" to Ames, Iowa.
Thanks to our fantastic coaches and dedicated parents and volunteers for providing the support that empowered students on McGraw OM teams to do their best at the state tournament. Congratulations to the students on the teams for being such creative, collaborative problem-solvers all the way to the Odyssey of the Mind World Finals!
