McGraw was excited to host the Denver Museum of Nature and Science this past week. As part of the presentation Time Scene Investigation: Snowmass Village, students came face to face with mammoths, mastodons, and real scientists! Students used scientific inquiry to learn about the Ice Age, how Colorado has changed through time, and what scientists are learning about the Snowmass Village area and the Ice Age creatures that used to live there. Over 4,500 fossils have been unearthed at the site and 20 vertebrate animals have been identified. If your family would like to learn more, McGraw has put a link to the Snowmastodon Project on the school website. Under the "Quick Links" tab select Student Websites, and then the "Science" folder. With over 50 videos and slideshows, you can join the scientists and see this amazing discovery unfold!
